This was my third GD concert and my memories of the music are very nice, I look forward to listening to the recordings to hear it for the first time since,

with more educated ears. The main reason for contributing the review is to share the ancillary memories. The concert took place on a rainy Saturday afternoon -- heck, it was Portland OR, it's often rainy. We got there late, completely missing David Bromberg's opening act. The next up were McGuinn, Clark, and Hillman. They played their one big hit, "Don't You Write Her Off," and then swung into old Byrds classics. All this time it was still drizzling with constant overcast, throughout the set and during the change of equipment after MGH left the stage. Then the Dead took the stage. My recollection is that as they led off with "Jack Straw," the clouds parted and sunlight streamed onto the stage and the crowd. Only at a Grateful Dead concert...

This was a fun show. McGuinn Clark and Hillman and maybe Bromberg played too, I don't remember at this point. What I do remember is one of the most beautiful
...
cloudburst skies ever during the Other One. And weir making a rather cold and intemperate remark about the recently departed Lowell George.

What a nugget. This show is short but sweet. The AUD recording for the vintage is exceptional. Brent is harmonizing really well after joining the band

Setlist is meat and potatoes with no real standouts. Very solid playing.
